Today, the CAST Research Lab honors World Mental Health Day, recognizing the importance of research, education, and advocacy in advancing global mental health. As counselors and scholars, we are dedicated to fostering resilience, reducing stigma, and supporting holistic wellbeing across communities.

At CAST Research Lab, we recognize this month to raise awareness that the community should know that no one has to battle these struggles alone. Every year, suicide touches the lives of millions, and far too many do so much suffering in silence. This month is about:

Join the CAST Research Lab in kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month! This month is incredibly special as UT San Antonio is a Hispanic Serving Institution. We celebrate and recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latino individuals here in the United States. The Latino population comprises about 20% of our general population and is the largest racial group (National Museum of the American Latino, n.d.). Hispanic and Latino individuals have notable accomplishments in the arts, athletics, scholarship, advocacy, and more. For more information, please refer to the resources listed below.
